WEEKLY REPORT

This week's report is from Kim Lane - our guest roving reporter.

Senior men were on a road trip to Kyogle to play.

First up was reserve grade who had a good game and won 3 -1 with Todd Kenny scoring 2 goas and Brendan Maguire scored one. Todd Summers, and Dillion Hancock were the players of the day.

First grade also won 3-1 with 2 goals scored by Wayne Mortimer and Dean Casey scoring 1 goal. Best players on the field were Wayne Mortimer, Dean Casey, Adam Whitwell, and Josh Rankin. There was a guest appearance in number 12, who had amazing foot work which nearly resulted in a goal being scored and he played brilliantly for the whole 5 minutes that he was on the field before needing to retire, however more game time will come with improved fitness.

5th Division went to East Ballina to play Tintenbar, with the final score being 6-1 unfortunately in Tintenbar's favour. The yay for the day goes to Matthew Hall who scored his first goall ever which was the only goal for Casino.

Under 14's played against Byron bay who were unfortunately were too strong for our Casino team which only had 11 players. Luke Weston, Troy Pillar and Joshua Rankin where the players of the day. Under 14's also played again on Sunday against Italo Stars at their home ground. The game was a great game to watch, as both teams were fairly even, however Italo managed to finish off their goals where Casino couldnt, winning the game 4-0. The coaches would like to thank Wayne Gordan and Jayden Livingstone who filled in for the 14's and put in a mighty fine effort. Players of the day were Troy Pillar, Joshua Rankin, Derek Adams, Dylan Clarke & Jeffrey Ferguson. Zac Walker had a great game in the goals saving numerous goals.

Grade 11 played Alstonville at their home ground. It was another entertaining performance to watch by the up and coming young talent. For the first 10 minutes of the game both teams were finding it hard to break through the others defence. Than Casino broke through with some brilliant passing with Bryce Lane scoring the first goal. The first half finished at 1-0 then the kids where ready to go again even stronger in the second half. Bryce Lane scored again for Casino. Then Joel Pillar also scored a very solid goal after making his way from the half way line. Alstonville was only able to get one goal in the net due to great defence from Natalie Brooker, Jackson Armstrong and Mick Haynes who had his best game yet. The play of the day goes to Lachlan Pontefract who ran from one side of the field to the goal post on the other side to save a goal. The teams win was all thanks to the great training they recieved from Peter Clarke, Dylan Clarke and Troy Pillar on Thursday

afternoon. Their head coach was away and the assistant coach Michael Pontefract & his offsider Anthony Lane stood in for the day and can now breath again coz the kids came out winners.
