WEEKLY REPORT 3/7

Another wet week resulted in a number of ground closures, game postponements and cancellations.

6 Jets and 6 Cobras were the only two Grade 6 teams to play this weekend as

our other two grade 6 games were washed out at Rovers.

They both had fun versing South Lismore on our home grounds.

7 Cobras and 7 United also played at home.

Coming up against Rover Raiders and Rover Rangers in a couple of great games of soccer.

7 Jets and 7 Rebels, travelled over to Lismore to battle against Italo Stars.

Both Grade 8 teams played at Colley Park this weekend against Lismore Thistles and Rovers.

8 Cobras have reported 2 wins as a result of some fantastic teamwork. Goals were scored by Kayne Blasche, Issac

Ramsay, Kayne and Rocco Partridge. But the coach says he could of named all his players as player of the match,

 as they were unstoppable!!!

The Grade 9 teams has fun battling it out amongst themselves this weekend.

In the Competitive Grades - The Game of the Round goes to the 11 Cobras for their efforts against Woodburn.

Due to an injury at training on Thursday Night, Joel Pillar opted to play goal keeper. And what a brilliant game he had for

someone who is not a goal keeper, he made 3 amazing saves. The forward line was on fire 5 minutes into the game after

some superb passing between Lachlan Pontefract ,Paul Creighton ,Jordan Penboss and Bryce Lane who put Casino

Cobras first goal in the back of the net. Not to be out done the half line got into the attack along with our forward line with

some more fantastic team work that would make any coach proud. Bryce Lane found the back of the net for the 2nd time

puting casino up 2-nil. Natalia Brooker was doing it for the girls  when she took a dot shot that was beautifully timed and

put Casino in front by. 3 Casino was also awarded a 2nd dot shot in the 2nd half which Natalia was unsuccessful with.

Woodburn was unable to score due to brilliant defence against the defensive line.

Our 12 Cobras had a fantastic win over Lismore Thistles, scoring all 4 goals. A mighty effort seeing they only had 8

players on the field. Goal scorers were Aden Reynolds (2), Liam Dougerty, Hayden Hughes

The 13's had a bye and the 15 Boys and Girls were washed out - so they all got an early holiday

Unfortunately the 14 Cobras came up against an extremely strong Rovers team, atrocious weather and ground conditions

on Friday Night and came off second best. But we all knew it was going to be a tough job coming up against the team

coming first on the 1st Division ladder.

The 2nd Division Women's game was called off as Rover's ground were unplayable on Sunday.

The 5th Division Boys fought hard but came out with another 0-0 result against Mullumbimby. They kept the opposition

scoreless thanks to Shayne Blasche's brilliant goal keeping. But even the efforts of Mahlee Anderson couldn't put a gaol on

the scoreboard.

The 4th Division were pleased when their game was postponed at Tintenbar, as President Graham Yates thought the boys might of needed a snorkel and flippers to play.

Reserve grade played against Lennox Head at their home ground. The game was an absolute pearler with Players of the

day being Dillion Hancock, Justin Cowan, Jacob Doohan, Nathan Noble, Todd Kenny and Brendan Maguire. Casino won

the game 3-0.

1st division also played at Lennox Head and unfortunately were beaten 4-0 but the conditions were not favourable but they

still gave it their all. Players of the day were Nathan Noble & Trent Battistuzzi who made some terrific saves to keep it at

4-0. The players however may need to invest in some gumboots because by the time they got on the field their soccer

boots were of no use to them as they spent most of the game on the backs in the mud.

Luckily the boys have a week off regroup and freshen up for their next game.
